Hi. Attached is a picture of 1967 C33 VH-DYD, serial number CD1080, which we owned for about four and a half years from 1990 to 1994. What a lovely aircraft! Fast, gentle and forgiving handling, almost landed itself, roomy and comfortable, the list goes on. But then, I don't need to tell a Beech pilot any of this, do I?

The photo was taken over Rottnest Island, a small resort island just a few miles off the coast of Western Australia near Perth, the capital city of the state.

Sad to relate, we were the last owners of our "Debbie". She was found to our dismay to have serious corrosion (yes, in the bathtub fittings amongst many places), and the likely cost was more than we were able to meet. Nobody could be found to take it on as a restoration project, so DYD was sold for salvage and broken up. Unfortunately the financial loss moved us very decisively out of the aircraft ownership fraternity - a hard learning experience.

Regards Steve & Christine Marshall
